Curated Nordic Design

About Nordverk

How it started

We started in 2025 in Malmö, Sweden, with a clear focus: to work with original Scandinavian design furniture from the mid-20th century, and to do so with care, selectivity, and respect for the objects themselves.

Malmö’s position, both geographically and culturally, made it a natural starting point. Close to the broader Scandinavian design landscape and shaped by a strong tradition of craftsmanship and modernism, it offered access to private homes, estates, and collections where quality often goes unnoticed.

The foundation of our work remains the same today. We look for furniture with integrity, pieces designed with purpose, built to last, and meant to be lived with. Our aim has never been to recreate the past, but to allow well-considered design to continue its life in the present.

Sourcing Original Pieces

Our acquisition process is deliberate and selective. We source primarily from private homes, estates, and long-held collections across Scandinavia, where original furniture is still part of everyday life rather than a curated commodity.

We evaluate each piece on design integrity, materials, construction, and originality. Many items are declined due to later modifications, excessive restoration, or compromised proportions. Only pieces that remain true to their original intent are considered.

What enters our collection has been chosen for its long-term relevance — not for trends, speed, or volume.

Respectful Restoration

All restoration is done with a conservative philosophy. We preserve original surfaces whenever possible and avoid over-refinishing that erases character. Patina is not a flaw — it is proof of authenticity.

When intervention is necessary, we use traditional techniques and finishes appropriate to the period, ensuring the piece remains true to its origin.
